A Choctaw chief whose attentions are repulsive to Jemmy, a sturdy and pretty frontierswoman, determines to take her by force. He awaits a chance when her husband is away, and entering with a band of Indians, tears her from her little son, and carries her off. When her husband returns the child tells what occurred and a posse goes out in search of the savages. They meet in a pitched battle, but the Indians secure their captive, and the husband returns home alone. A year passes. He has given Jemmy up tor dead, and now takes unto himself a new helpmate. Matters go along smoothly, and Lily is a good mother to the child. But the captive, thought dead, suddenly returns. Her husband fails to recognize her at first, but when he does he faces an ordeal. Lily, however, is a noble soul, and realizing that she is now in the way, places the child in Jemmy's arms and leaves the home forever,
