I saw only one 30 minute segment (out of the total 13) showing at the IAIA in Santa Fe. The particular one i saw was pretty interesting, depicting a family arriving at a village where a missionary also lives, and who has already had an influence on village life. The family warily participates in the missionary's Christian church service, which is performed in the Inuit language. The missionary tells the story of Moses, ironically (to me, anyway) using the word "inuit" (meaning "the people") when Moses calls "Let the people go!" The father of the family worries about attending the service because it might encourage them to turn from their own ways.
One can recognize the immediacy in tone and style as the precursor to Atanarjuat, and bits of the others showed many other aspects of Inuit life in different time periods. Would be quite something to see all 13 pieces, which apparently follow five different families.
