Interesting blend of Vehicle and Lion
cjpdigi905 September 2005
Until watching this, I had never even seen a bit of Vehicle Voltron. Still, it was a crossover I wanted to see. The footage seems mostly from the Lion Voltron, so I was satisfied there. Unfortunately, you don't see much of Voltron until the last 20 minutes or so, but the action is all good. The blending of the Vehicle and Lion characters is done pretty well, with actually a few shots of both Voltrons and teams in the same place. All of the classic Voltron cast return as their specific characters. However, the only characters really given a lot of screen time are Keith and Allura. It's anyone's guess if those two really are an item. I still liked it as a guy who grew up watching Voltron whenever he could and when it comes to action, I was satisfied with what I saw. Check this out if you're a Voltron fan. Repeat viewings if you feel like it.

Vehicle Voltron

I'm not surprised that many people don't remember the Vehicle Voltron but I do. I remember both teams and to me? The Vehicle team was much better but that's MHO. The lion team was OK but in many ways I found it rather boring, whereas the Vehicle Team had more adventures and better story lines than the Lion Team. I remember that the vehicle team consisted of Land, Sea and Air Vehicles. Maybe I remember it better because of my age but who knows?

Best Episode With Two Voltrons For the Price of One
voicemaster716 April 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I'd have to say this is the one episode of Voltron I liked the best of all time because it brought both Voltron Forces and robots together against a mega threat to the universe.

I remember the Fleet of Doom kicked off the Lion Force's second season and Vehicle Voltron's force only appeared in brief scenes as they were trying to get to to where they needed to be.

I recall that Commander Keith and Princess Allura had the biggest roles in this hour long episode. The two things I enjoyed best were when the guys of the Lion Force talked about their days at the academy and the friendships they had with the members of Vehicle Voltron. Oddly enough, the air team seemed like the equivalent to the Lion force.

The other part I love is when Lion Force Voltron is in trouble, Vehicle Voltron arrives in the nick of time and seeing the two robots fight side by side.

Of all the shows, this is the Voltron episode I'd like to see come to DVD since it has never aired on TV again other than that one time I saw it. Two thumbs up!

Two Voltrons, One Galactic Adventure
jeremycrimsonfox6 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After a secret Galaxy Garrison's power base that is built to create life-giving energy without wastes or radiation is attacked by Commander Cossack,, he decides to retreat after doing enough damage for the base, and heads back to Planet Doom to report to King Zarkon. Soon enough, Galaxy Garrison sends a message to the Voltron Lion Force, and the Voltron Vehicle Force are briefed on the attack, as both teams head to the base, as if it's destroyed, it could spell the end of Galaxy Garrison, as King Zarkon has made an alliance with Viceroy Throk to lead the assault on the base (with each one plotting to conquer the other when the battle is over).

Part of Voltron: Defender of the Universe, a series that dubs Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV and edits the two anime series to feel like they take place in one universe, this special is a marvelous feat. As the two anime used for Voltron are considered alternate universes in their original Japanese form, Toei made new footage for World Events Pictures to use, especially for the scenes where both Voltrons team up. As a result of this, this special never aired in Japan.

This is an interesting crossover. As the footage was made specifically for the Voltron series, they manage to make it work, as the members of the Voltron Lion Force have memories of being with the members of the Vehicle Force (especially Pidge, as Chip is his brother). Plus, they manage to add in some conflicts in between to keep things exciting (one instance being Haggar, Planet Doom's witch, taking Allura's spirit, with King Alfor taking Keith to a dimension where dreams become reality, which Haggar uses to exploit a nightmare she sees Keith having). This is a neat treat that brings the two different Voltrons together for one great battle.
