The movie focuses on Sam's dilemma; he wants to move on from his seedy criminal past, but the past isn't ready to let go.
Sally, his wife, stays at home, her leg in a cast from hip to ankle, and watches daytime TV. Any time Sam turns up, she either ignores him, threatens him, or seduces him into taking the drugs he's trying to give up.
Eddy, Sam's brother, is determined to keep Sam firmly entrenched in petty crime - for Eddy's benefit, of course.
Mark Phillips, as Sam, is a knockout and despite the fact that this character is an idiot (and a criminal), you're completely in his corner, willing him to somehow escape and move on.
This is an intelligent, witty script and the cast, all unknowns, is amazing. Particular standouts are Mark Phillips as Sam, JP Allen as Eddy and Kim Ataide as Sally.
