Goofs

War of the Worlds 2: The Ending of World War

Edit

Continuity

When watching the robots altering Jake's helicopter, the Major tells Cage to take a shot. Cage is clearly using an M-16 variant with a standard "peep" sight but when he his sight picture view is shown it is as if he's looking through a scope with red cross hairs.

Factual errors

The commando leader refers to his helicopter as a "Huey," the nickname for the single-rotor UH-1, but the helicopter depicted is a twin-rotor CH-47 Chinook.
The General has four metal stars pinned on his shirt. He should be wearing epaulettes with fours stars on them.

Revealing mistakes

When the group is in a open field and attacked by the robots, they run to hide behind a boulder. When they run around behind the boulder and grab the side it rocks. Revealing it is likely Styrofoam.

While the robot and crew are said to be on a deserted atoll, while walking through the jungle, you can see them on a paved path.
Some weapons supposedly fire a round without the weapon action cycling to eject the empty cartridge. In a few scenes the M16's are shown from the front and the muzzle are solid which means there is no place for a projectile to exit and are obviously prop guns.
At the end of the movie when the team are trying to trap the robot, they spend quite a while out in torrential rain, yet their hair, clothes etc. remain completely dry, even as the (CGIed) rain pelts down upon them.

Anachronisms

In the opening scene, the two soldiers fire over 200 rounds from their pistols without reloading.
Although the retrieval team is billed as "US Navy SEALS," they are addressed in the military ranks (such as "captain" and "major") used by the Army, Air Force & Marine Corps.

Errors in geography

The island they were on was far to large to be classified as an atoll.

Character error

When the robots attack on the plane, one woman runs in the direction of the robot and twists and throws herself violently down. She is never touched by the robot that was CGI'd in later.
