Applesauce!
James A. Fitzpatrick sends the Technicolor cameras up to Washington State under the supervision of Robert Carney. Meanwhile, Fitzpatrick stays in the studio and tries to think of how to astonish us with the facts that they grow apples in Washington and that it has a coastline.
Ho hum. The copy of this short which plays on Turner Classic Movies is in pretty good shape even though its greens have a brownish tinge to them. I suppose that's because of all the dirt around the plants.

not the most exciting
America has entered WWII and TravelTalks visits Washington State. It's not the most exciting episode and it starts with some bright red apples. The show does more flying than usual and a lot of traveling around the state looking out the window. The salmon elevator is interesting. There is more dam work than most episodes. The glimpse of construction looks interesting. For an episode that starts on an apple farm, it's fitting to end looking over a wheat field.
