A pleasant surprise
cmgsoon11 October 2005
I don't know anyone associated with this show, but it was brilliant. The acting was great, the plot was funny, and it was refreshing to watch a show on TV that actually made me laugh. I loved the cast. A sexy and young 40-something who leads the pact. A very funny Latina with broken gaydar, a frumpier but still sexy 30-something who doesn't seem to be able to find Mr. Right, and the beautiful Christina Moore, who learns from their mistakes in love.

Hot Properties was probably one of the funniest shows I've seen in years. With so many uninspiring comedies on television that don't make me laugh, or are just down right dumb, this show was a refreshing surprise.

It was funny all the way through. So funny, I called friends on the West Coast to tell them to watch. I even added it to my TIVO season pass so I won't miss any upcoming episodes. I just happen to be flipping channels, and the first scene made me laugh. It was a great cast, and I loved he pilot story with the woman who sleep with their client's soon-to-be husband. I thought the show hit all the comedic marks all the way through. I rarely recommend to any of my friends to watch shows. But this one was funny. Genuinely funny. I plan to tune in on a regular basis.

Gail O'Grady, Nicole Sullivan, Sofia Vergara and Christina Moore makes the perfect cast. It's sort of like Sex and the City but not annoying, and a bit edgier than Desperate Housewives. It's great to see Evan Handler on a show like this as well. My hat's off to the show's creator Suzanne Martin who has managed to combine a nice blend of Fraiser Humor with a little old-fashioned ABC TGIF fun.

Hot Properties is at best Luke warm.

I've watched a lot of TV through the years. So much, that when I start seeing new shows that basically seem like reruns of old shows, I get insulted. Luckily, I am not too sensitive because all "Hot Properties" does is updates the cast (meaning make them sexier)of "Designing Women" and drops them in New York City instead of Georgia.

The jokes are more TV-14-ish, but it does not make the show any better. The only thing that this show has proved is that Nicole Sullivan is SO good that she could have made a show like "My Mother the Car" a classic. Her comic talents remind one of a modern day Lucille Ball--only funnier. Unfortunately, the rest of the cast is flashy and sexy which might be good for some brainless soap, but they just aren't funny.

Funny show and actually quite meaningful

I found this show on Youtube this year and watched each episodes like 3+ times. I watched this show for Sofia Vergara but ended up liking the whole cast. Each of the characters have a story of their own and they are very entertaining. I don't understand why pp think this show is bad or it is similar to Sex and the City. The cast is not that diverse, which could have been changed if this show was continued. Too bad it's been more than 10 years it is impossible to make new seasons with the same cast. Such a shame.

This show is really good.

I came home from a movie and I turned this show on and wasn't expecting much and was totally surprised. It was really funny. I laughed through out the show. There aren't that many sitcoms that I enjoy and I found this one to be great. The acting is good, and so is the writing. It reminded of a younger version of the "golden girls" Its worth checking out. I think ABC has a hit an doesn't know it. The day and time slot should be changed.

Whoever is writing this show is brilliant. I know there has been only 2 episodes and I have only seen one, but the writing is "clever" There is something very unique about the show. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but if you haven't seen it, you must give it a shot!

It's OK if you like Nicole Sullivan but

Warning: Spoilers
This comedy doesn't show me anything I've already seen before, "A Desperate Housewives" type story (all three of the friends featured dated the same man) mixed in with elements of "The View" (they all sit all around telling the days events and mocking it).

Overall I would say based on the pilot it's nothing special. The first thing I didn't care a damn bit about the characters especially Emerson Ives (Christina Moore) who for all intentional purposes is the dumb blonde (though you would be confused given the fact that her friends aren't that smart). Ava Summerlin (Gail O'Grady), Nicole Reed (Sullivan) seem to run some real estate agency but of course that's not the real show here. In the pilot Reed, and Ava are sad to find out they slept with the wrong man and that Emerson is now dating him. Then of course, these leads to the usual mishaps with one party being caught in a comprising position (ala Three's Company, and a host of other better sitcoms). Then of course four friends end up drinking their night away and putting the blame on the guy instead of each other. Well I did enjoy the Oprah Winfrey jokes that gets old since we all know what kind of person Oprah is.

For Nicole Sullivan fans well she won't let you down, she does her usual crazy bit routine and does her usual smirks, and gags as only the former MAD TV member could do, but I just don't see the show lasting. First on it's a Friday Night under a crappy timeslot (9:30 pm on the west coast) going head to head against CBS's Hot new show Threshold. Even taking a look at upcoming episodes like "Chick stuff" (mourning of a pet chicken, leads to the four girls leads to them learning they dialed someone while drunk),I really don't see anything good about the show that really stands out. It might be probably among more women and men since it's geared obviously to a more female audience, which might be a bad thing since it's all about the ratings, but if I had to give a recommendation, I'd say unless you're bored don't watch it, it's nothing special.
