An Excellent Look Into Iraq
bmac890311 February 2006
The story follows a Iraqi man who was only 16 after the first gulf war. He took President Bush's advice and rose up against Saddam, only to be shot, captured, tortured, and left for dead. He was saved by American soldiers and lived in the US for 13 years. Soon after the "end of major combat operations" in May 2003, this man returned to Iraq to find his family whom he had not heard from in 13 years. He spent 21 days in country.

This movie is excellent -- A MUST SEE. It shows Iraq in the most neutral light I have seen yet in a documentary. The movie is not anti-Bush, but it tries to voice the opinions of dozens of people in Iraq. Interviews of American soldiers/officers and random Iraqis going about their daily lives make up the bulk of the movie. The most insightful moments feature an American tank-commander, a conversation between an Egyptian business man and an Iraqi translator, an Asian-American female journalist, and the man's surviving family who all tell extremely powerful stories.

I saw this movie on Comcast On-Demand, free-of-charge
