saw LASPONGGOLS at the first CINEMALAYA PHILIPPINE independent film festival. amazing beginnings, especially when they previewed the disdainful treatment they give to the "lowly" part of the film-making industry. MONET DELA CRUZ is amazing for a first timer; the camera loves RAPUNZEL. JEFFREY QUIZON blew me away by being the silent, dumb ass in the movie, who in the end was able to knock some sense in the highly idealistic DWIGHT GASTON. GASTON never failed to amaze me. he has shown his animation in this movie, especially when his exaggerations gave the viewers the complete overview of the dirt in the film industry.
however, SIG SANCHEZ could've cut the movie shorter, as it stretched on and on for almost three hours. butt cracks do complain too, no matter how well structured the movie is. applause for the cinematographer for fantastically exhibiting scenes using only a gas lamp.
