What a pleasant surprise!
scapin-29 April 2005
I saw this film at a recent screening in Denver. I came in with an open mind, but knowing it was an independent, low budget film, honestly my expectations were much lower than if I were seeing a Hollywood Blockbuster...

HOWEVER - I found myself really getting into the story and relating to the characters. I enjoyed the film and would recommend it to my friends. The action scenes were good and there were plenty of plot twists to make it interesting. The concept of the rich guy's plan was original and intriguing. My only critique is that the alley scene behind the club was disappointingly gratuitous. Other than that, I was pleasantly surprised.

Go check it out - it's worth taking a look. Given more budget I think this film could be really big.

Seen it before.

About 50 filmmakers a year make this movie. Tough Guys, Guns, Drugs, and clichés. The most believable performance came from the Mike character. Otherwise everything else seemed very forced, maybe it was the script. The rich old guy and the dude with muttonchops didn't do it for me. The quality and tone of Spotless was great, but misguided. Not sure who the dp was but I really thought that was the most impressive part of the movie. I was in Denver visiting a friend that I tagged along with when I saw the movie. I understand this was shot for under $50,000 and I have to say with it being a crime thriller wouldn't digital of saved money and set a raw tone that this movie desperately needed.
