On one occasion, Linda refers to distances in miles even though she's Canadian and Canada uses kilometers. However, lots of older Canadians like Linda still use imperial measurements since Canada didn't start using the metric system until the 1970s.
When in church people rise when Vivienne's song is playing, from the front camera shot Vivienne's grandfather is missing.
Linda says the nearest hotel from her place is 4 miles up the highway. In reality, Wawa has lots of hotels most within walking distance. It is possible that she was lying in order to get Alex to stay.
In the film's beginning Alex exits the restaurant. In the window it says White River. He is driving to Winnipeg which is west of White River. However Vivienne has a sign that says Wawa. That means he would be heading east back to Wawa instead of west to Winnipeg.
