Good Special
jeremycrimsonfox26 September 2019
I remember the Incredible Crash Dummies. Based on the PSAs where Vince and Larry taught people to buckle their seat belts, they would spawn into a toyline. However, after three networks banned the Crash Dummies PSAs on the grounds of being toy advertisements, the line was reworked to remove Vince and Larry and make it original Crash Dummies. Later on, the line would take on the usual good-vs-evil formula that most toy lines follow, and this special was originally created as a pilot for a potential series, but due to CGI being expensive, it was scrapped.

In this, the two heroes, Slick and Spin, are two Crash Test Dummies who work at crash test facility. However, when Dr. Zub's newest prototype, the Torso 9000, which was used by Ted, is connected to an evil dummy head due to the janitor, Horst, it results in the birth of the evil Junkman. Now Slick and Spin must stop Junkman and his Junkboy army from achieving world domination by getting the plans to the Torso 9000 from Dr. Zub.

It's a good special, but it has not aged well, especially when most of the jokes rely on puns involving "crash" "smash" and "head". However, it is funny and full of action. Worth checking out.

The toys you HAD to buy

If you wanted something back in that time to destroy and fall apart but doesnt brake it were the Crash Dummy toys. I had the taxi and still have it with the figures so it's obvious that I really liked the series! First 3D animated series with smooth technology so that was also a must to see! Lot's of nostalgia.

The Crash Dummies

Today, the Crash Dummies are probably best remembered as something of a nineties phenomenon. Back in 1992 when the popular line of toys from Tyco reached the height of its success, this animated made-for-TV short was produced. It originally aired on FOX TV, but it was later re-packed as a video to be sold with one of the action figures, which is, ultimately, how I acquired it.

The Incredible Crash Dummies was one of the first computer animated movies ever made, and the graphics have held up surprisingly well. It's nowhere near the professional level of Pixar but it's not as wooden as one would expect either.

The important thing is that this movie is fun. I probably haven't watched it since I was 9 or 10 but at least I know I enjoyed it at that age. It's not meant to be viewed by adults anyway. It's made with good innocent humor and it doesn't overstay its welcome. Anyone who loved the toys will probably like this movie.

Crash test Dummies

I live in Australia and surprisingly was this on tv but I also had the video of it , whether it was recorded off t.v or not I can't remember but I do remember there was another crash test dummy who's clothing was green n black , he always got the short end of the stick . The figures and p.c game came out in the 80s before the animation. Honestly thought it was a series tho , I had all there toys and would always swap there legs or arms or try make them drive the car after its release mechanism is released from being pushed into a wall or something. Btw the PlayStation network has the old game on its store
