An insignificant documentary
Sixty people remain in the small town of Burdick, Kansas. Most of them are very old and few are young. During the last forty years there has been a steady decline in population due to a number of factors. "Bill's Run" follows the run for House of Representatives by one of the remaining residents, a Bill Kassebaum. He's a low-key guy with big dreams for the rural community of mostly aged conservatives. His documentarian brother Richard directed the film, but hasn't really tapped into much with his trifle of a film. There's plenty of bluegrass music and quirky small town flavor, complete with the humorous ravings of the obviously undereducated and one bit with a cute kid rambling on about tractors, but not much more.
