Goofs

Clerks II

Edit

Continuity

(at around 12 mins) When Randal, Dante, and Emma are talking about Emma's large clit, Dante's cross necklace disappears and reappears between shots.
(at around 47 mins) During the go-kart scene, we see a quick shot of Dante wearing sunglasses. The rest of the time he has no sunglasses on.
(at around 48 mins) Randal's shirt collar moves position/shape while they're driving back from the go-kart track.
(at around 55 mins) Dante's hair changes significantly when Becky sits down to talk to him about the wedding and dancing at the reception, and then again later throughout other scenes.
(at around 56 mins) Becky's bra strap and shirt strap gap in the front and meet in the back when she's asking Dante if he's afraid to get married (most easily viewed during the over-her-shoulder shots). The straps align and are on top of each other when she leans forward when Dante tells her that he can't dance. All subsequent over-her-shoulder shots still have the straps in the same position as before she leaned forward.

Factual errors

(at around 1 min) When Dante first shows up at the store and lifts the lock to open the metal shutters, he doesn't sense anything amiss inside. When he lifts the shutter to find a violent inferno inside, he closes the door with his bare hands and then lifts it again. If the store were really burning so violently, the metal shutters and lock would have certainly been too hot to be touched.
When Dante gets to Mooby's and think it's on fire, he calls the fire department, it takes way too long for the firefighters to actually arrive from the time he calls.

Revealing mistakes

(at around 6 mins) When Jay and Silent Bob first appear you can see two people walk past the window to the left in the background before the van passes. A second later after the van passes and Jay and Silent Bob appear, the two people in the window disappear.
Several times Dante is supposed to be driving his car but you can clearly see the shift lever is in park.

Crew or equipment visible

(at around 4 mins) Near the beginning of the film, when Dante makes one last stop at the burned down Quick Stop, you can see the shadow of a crew member on the lower-right corner of Dante's car.

Errors in geography

(at around 15 mins) When Elias is being driven to work, an OCTA (Orange County Transit Authority) bus is clearly visible.
(at around 47 mins) In the Go-Cart Scene, there are California desert mountains visible in the background. The movie is supposed to take place in New Jersey.

Plot holes

(at around 45 mins) Randal scrapes urinal ice and pulls flies off the strip for Lance's food--but the fly strip is by the prep table in plain sight later, and to get to the restrooms, Randal would have to walk past Lance to the main dining room, as the "staff restroom" doesn't have a urinal, just a toilet (as shown when Randal opens the door on Dante).

Character error

(at around 1h 30 mins) The last line of the movie is a customer ordering "a pack of cigarettes." Smokers never order "a pack of cigarettes." They order their brand (a pack of Kools, Winstons, etc.) or a type (a pack of menthols, etc.). Although this is a reference to the first movie, where all the cigarette buying customers would simply order a pack of cigarettes, most likely for legal reasons preventing them from using brand names.
