Good Newsreel
Wedding of the Doll (1968)
*** (out of 4)
This British Pathe newsreel shows off the wedding between Roman Polanski and Sharon Tate. Obviously, the "doll" in the title is reference to Tate who we see decked out in her wedding dress. We also see them cutting the cake and Polanski feeding her a piece. Also seen are Joan Collins, Barbara Parkins, Juliet Mills, Laurence Harvey and others who were there at the Playboy Club. Overall there's certainly nothing ground-breaking about this but it's at least interesting to see and especially when you consider the horror that was to follow the couple. The footage has been used in several documentaries and has since then turned up uncut for people to view.
