DINOSAUR MOVIES is a lo-fi documentary that makes up with enthusiasm what it lacks in budget. Presented, written, and directed by amateur movie-maker Donald F. Glut, it features Glut and a female companion working through a chronological list of films featuring dinosaurs in them, from early silent shorts up until the 1980s. The film was made just before JURASSIC PARK came out, which isn't even mentioned, and there are no clips from newer movies; just the old classics.
As is the case with many of these analogue documentaries, the worst thing about this is the quality of the clips. Most of the time the dinosaurs shown are extremely grainy, but then given the quality of some of the special effects perhaps that's for the best. Still, a huge range of films are covered from KING KONG to DINOSAURUS!, which is all for the good, and there are interviews with personalities such as Forrest J. Ackerman and Ray Harryhausen. It's all good.
