When Jack, Tom and Nicholas are attempting to cross the border into Switzerland, the Hitlerjugend boy addresses a German with "Leutnant", though the man addressed is clothed as an ordinary Schütze, a private.
At about 32 minutes into part two, Jack is leafing through a German magazine. The photo on the cover was taken about a year later, during the Battle of the Bulge.
Most of the cars have Berlin license plates, despite the fact that the action takes place near Leipzig.
