i saw this flick at the ny independent film and video festival. the first fifteen minutes of blake poopler were pretty solid, but the final section of the movie was awesome. cutting between live-action, animation, black and white, pixelation and various other narrative tricks, the film pulls off the best acid trip segment i've ever seen. i'm not sure if the rest of the audience agreed, but i'm a poopler fan for good. actually, a lot of people walked out of the movie. but that's not always a bad thing. i'm not sure if you can rent this anywhere, but i know the website for it has some cool information. the kid that played blake poopler seemed pretty real. i sometimes felt like he didn't want to be in the movie. but maybe that was the film's intention. maybe i'm weird cause i like movies that make me feel bad. but in that genre of depressing films, blake poopler is all class.
