Wow--Eva does it again!
I recently have fallen in love with the short films of Eva Saks, though I know nothing about this writer/director other than the fact that she has a great way of portraying people--in particular, kids. While A PIZZA MAN is the first film of hers I have seen that does not feature a child as the principle character, like her other films Ms. Saks has shown tremendous skill in showing realistic people and has a knack for capturing something unique.
In this short film, an El Salvadoran immigrant talks about life in his old country compared to life here in America. During the course of this short film, you see the humanity and decency of this man--a man who is in every way a true American--hard working, a family man as well as having a deep love and commitment to his new land. It was really heart-warming hearing his simple story. Another great film from Ms. Saks!!!
