Day Watch (2006)

Goofs

Day Watch

Edit

Continuity

When the plane flying to Samarqand experiences difficulties during the lift off, the landing gear brushes against the trees. A pilot in the background screams "Landing gear!". Then the landing gear starts being retracted. However, in the final shot of the plane, the landing gear is fully extended.
In the end, the faces of Geser and Zavulon are soaking wet; Anton's face, however, is dry.
When Anton (In Olga's body) opens the shower curtain when Svetlana is screaming for him to leave, the next shot is of Svetlana holding the shower curtain closed and screaming at him.
In Cafe Zoar, Anton's dark glasses slip down his forehead to cover his eyes when he sees Yegor outside. In the subsequent shots of Anton running outside, his dark glasses alternate between being worn over his forehead and over his eyes.
When Alisher gets a call from Anton in Samarqand, he calls him only by his first name ("Anton"). However, the Dark Other passing by Alisher says to Zavulon that a "Gorodetsky" (Anton's last name) is coming to Samarqand.

Factual errors

The photographer taking pictures on Yegor's birthday shoots multiple pictures, and electric sounds of the film transporter are audible. However, the camera bag is of a Zenit camera, and the objective name is "Zenitar-MS". Zenit is a mechanical camera without an electric motor. The photographer takes a series of shots of Anton partying, with one shot per second. However, the flash used on the camera (either a Unomat, or a Vivitar flash) normally needs 3 to 5 seconds to recharge.
When Alisa drives to Galina's daughter, the interior of her car is an Audi-TT (the car she drove in Night Watch). The exterior, however, is a Mazda RX8. The reason for the car change is that in the meantime, the Audi was stolen. The flight from Moscow to Samarqand was supposed to take place from the Domodedovo airport. However, there are only runways 14R, 14L, 32R and 32L in Domodedovo. The plane, however, is taking off from run-way 02, and the international terminal of the Vnukovo airport is to the left.
The Mazda could never fit through a window of the Kosmos hotel - the windows there are only 2x2 meters in size.
A Dark Other from Samarqand, Uzbekistan, is calling Zavulon by a mobile phone. He dials the number 8-910. However, as Uzbekistan is another country, he should have dialed +7910.
At the beginning, there is a neon sign "Happy New Year! Moscow 2006". However, the statue of "The Worker and the Farmer" which can be seen in the film, was removed for restoration before 2006.

Revealing mistakes

When Geser freezes the time near the end, snow is falling and birds are flying by.

Miscellaneous

The tired, beaten-up and poisoned Anton needs only 4 seconds to reach the fourth floor (where the apartment of the witch with a red wall is located)

Anachronisms

Tamerlane is speaking modern Kazakh language.
Ignat seems to be watching an old soccer game: it was a match Russia - Latvia of 2004. The ice hockey game which Anton was watching is even older. It was a match during the Olympic games in Salt Lake City in 2002 (Russia vs. USA).
The car number plates shown in "Moscow, 1992" don't match the actual Russian license plates of 1992.
The trolleybus which hits Zavulon is a "Svarz-Ikarus", a modified Hungarian bus. The scene in the movie is taking place around New Year's Eve of 2006, however, the last Svarz-Ikarus was removed from service in October 2004 (the shooting of the scene took place in Winter 2003).
