Real and Edgy!

I had the opportunity to see the very first showing of this movie ever, which showed at the Tribeca Film Festival. I thought the characters were very real and honest. The film allowed me to see what I have felt like doing for a long time now. It played out what I think about all the time. In that way, it touched me in a personal way. Basically, it is about two people who decide to let go of societal norms and just do what they want to do, they become completely free-spirited. It is also a great love story and the viewer really roots for the relationship. Winner did a wonderful job developing the characters and has created a very different kind of movie. I highly recommend it!

Satellite

I absolutely loved this movie. I only buy movies I intend to watch ad nauseum, and I walked out of the theatre wanting to buy it. I caught it at the Denver Film Festival, and got to talk to the writer and the director of the film after viewing it. The title Satellite refers to a conversation between the two main characters, about how if one were to float outside of the atmosphere, they would be able to go around the entire world in a day. This is a wonderful love story, extremely realistic (to the point it almost made me cry), and not the same thing you see constantly coming out of Hollywood. A movie absolutely worth watching, if you can find it.

feel robbed

This was honestly one of the wost movies I have ever seen.

The acting was horrific, but wasn't helped by material that was beyond boring and went absolutely nowhere. The use of freeze frame/still frames ironically came at the most ridiculously unbelievable times in the movie. I almost felt like the the film made a mockery of itself, so that you couldn't take it seriously. I couldn't. There was no way to identify or root for the 2 main characters because they were never really developed and easy to dislike.

Scenes shot in NYC were also very scattered and locations weren't easily identified. Might have well shot the movie somewhere else. The urban feel was lost. Hopefully these actors redeemed their careers in a future film because this was a very poor effort for the two main characters.
