Fascinating for any fan
What I found very interesting about this retrospective is some of the open opinions regarding the Director and the character of Adric and also the interpretation of Beryl Reid. It was very refreshing. To think that this was shot in six days is incredible. Have to tip your hat to Peter Grimwade, who despite the tensions amongst cast, pulled out a tight little thriller and created one of Peter Davison's best stories. The only person missing from this is Janet Fielding. A shame as it was great to hear from all of the others and see how they look now (well, 2003) and how they felt about their involvement. A must watch for any classic Dr Who aficionado.

An extra very much worth looking at.
This extra little retrospective is found on the Doctor Who: Earthshock DVD. It basically talks to just about everyone who was involved in making decisions (and also the actors) for Doctor Who at that time. They talk about how some of the costuming was going, and (more entertainingly) how some of it was failing in the middle of filming. In this day and age we are lucky to be able to see a full retrospective from the most creative Cult/Sci-Fi show around, when it was straining to do it's best with it's limitations (time, budget, budget, technology, and did I mention budget?). It's well worth taking the half hour or so to watch, and is really very interesting, ranging from the deadly serious to the funny little behind-the-scenes quirks. A must watch for any Doctor Who fan.
