Hungary fought on the side side of the Central Powers / Germany in World War I. Two years after this film was released, Hungary again allied with Germany and fought on the side of the Axis in World War II.
The narrator mentions the Treaty of Trianon, which forced Hungary to cede much of the land it occupied as a world power unde the Austro- Hungarian Empire and how the floral arrangement showed the country in one color of flowers and former land in another color and a flag at half mast mourning the loss of land. In March 1939, less than a year after this film was released, Hungary attacked Slovakia and regained a portion of the lost land.
The side-wheel paddle steamer "Zsofia" is shown going under the Chain Bridge with its reclining smokestack. It was built in 1914 at Dresden, Germany and shipped to Vienna, Austria where it was reassembled. She survived both World Wars and continued passenger service on the Danube River until it was withdrawn in 1965.
