Matt McCoy and Haley Joel in Abominable (2006)

Goofs

Abominable

Edit

Continuity

(at around 4 mins) At the beginning of the movie, after the couple find the dead horse, their dog runs into the woods and is also killed. The couple go back into the house to hide and the abominable snowman comes onto their porch. When it leaves, they go out and see his footprints in the snow that they just ran through. But their footprints aren't seen.
(at around 50 mins) Whenever Preston looks through his binoculars, the view changes depending on what the director wants the audience to see. For example, when he's looking into the bathroom, he can see the shower and other window, yet later on when he's looking at the bathroom, he can only see the window next to the front door.
(at around 53 mins) When the girl from the house next door is finished showering and the monster pulls her out of the window, blood can be seen above the window in one shot and gone the next.
(at around 1h 11 mins) After Amanda has been attacked by the creature for the first time she has two scratches on her face. Later in the film when she is hiding in Preston's house and comes back after finding an axe, the two scratches are nowhere to be seen.

Factual errors

(at around 47 mins) When the girls phone to report their friend missing, the girl who calls is apparently told that you have to be missing for 48 hours to be reported missing. This is a common belief but is incorrect.

Revealing mistakes

When the creature roars at the camera, the actor's mouth is briefly visible within the fake one.
(at around 40 mins) After speaking with the Clerk and Farmer Hoss around the campfire, Ziegler Dane wanders off to discover the source of the unfamiliar smell. When he comes across the creature's cave, the camera zooms in on skeletal remains, including a "skull" that has a slight indentation for its nose and no real nasal cavity.
(at around 1h 21 mins) When Preston is honking the horn to upset the sasquatch and drive it away, the "Chevrolet" logo on the steering wheel is reversed.
(at around 48 mins) The interview video with Dr. Seussmeyer that's played on the laptop keeps on playing when the software's navigational slider reaches the end.
(at around 1h 23 mins) After Preston smashes the creature into the tree with the car, in the wide shot the wheels are still spinning, but a car idling in gear; against an object like that the wheels would be stationary. Also, there is no sign of ruts that the tire would have dug into the ground if he was spinning the tires in a stationary position.

Character error

(at around 1h 25 mins) When Deputy McBride arrives on the scene, Preston tells him to "...bring in the calvary." He should have said "cavalry".
