Rather weak...but interesting in its own way

Warning: Spoilers
This short film is included in the DVD "Shorts!: Vol. 1" and is one of the better ones in this compilation. Unfortunately, it's among the weakest of the shorts on this disk. The biggest reason I say this is that the animation is only passable and the story itself is weird--and not in a particularly good way.

The film begins in what looks like Japan, though the narration is in Japanese-accented English. The lady explains that lately she has not been able to sleep and then begins wondering about how fishes can manage to never sleep (scientifically, this isn't quite accurate, but this isn't a marine biology blog, so I'll keep this to myself). Then, as she things about this, you see fish being caught and processed on an assembly line.

Where the film when next didn't particularly impress me--it just seemed bizarre and pointless. However, so as not to spoil the film, I'll say nothing more. I just didn't feel there was enough payoff for the film--an odd concept but one that didn't quite hit the mark.
