The Waltons (1972)

Goofs

The Fawn

The Waltons

Edit

Continuity

When Erin introduces the fawn to her family, she explains to her mother that, "He was just lying there, shivering." However, when Erin came upon the fawn in the woods, it was up on its feet, calmly grazing.

Factual errors

John-Boy was to be paid 5% of the rents he collected. When he brought Mr Foster $190 he was owed $9.50 but after he repaired Mrs. Crofut's roof he collected $18 in rent from her he should have kept $10.40 as his pay since he collected $208 in total rents. $208 times 5% equals $10.40 but he only kept $9.50 as his payment as the rent collector.

Revealing mistakes

In the scene where the Walton children are picking raspberries, the berries are obviously stuck onto the vines. Raspberries do not grow individually. They grown on the vine in clusters that hang. The ones in this scene appear to have been pierced by thorns or stems to keep them on the vine so that the actors can remove them.
At about 6:00 into the episode Kami Cotler appears to accidentally knock over a glass of milk. Ever the professionals, Ralph Waite and Michael Learned stay in character, calmly mop up the spilled milk with their napkins and continue on with the scene.
At the end of the scene where Erin finds the fawn, a 1970s-era car can be seen driving by on the left.
