Eric Johnson and Tom Welling in Smallville (2001)

Goofs

Metamorphosis

Smallville

Edit

Continuity

Clark's hair goes from long to short and back to long as Clark, Pete and Chloe talk about Greg's tree fort.
While researching Greg with Chloe, Clark changes from one hand on the computer mouse to arms crossed and back.

Factual errors

Traffic enforcement seems a little lax in Smallville as we see Greg Arkin who is presumably a 14-year-old freshman drive his VW Bettle. In the State of Kansas a 14-year-old can get a learner's permit to drive, however, Greg violated one of those restrictions since Kansas law also states that an adult 18 years and older must be along at all times when they drive. So Greg is violating state law by driving alone and without adult supervision when the provisions of having a Restricted Permit even when 15 years old requires licensed adult supervision to drive. Even if he went out on his own behind his mothers back after driving home from Lana''s aunts house she doesn't seem to care about her son breaking the law or try and hide the car keys which is evident by him going out again moments later to run away with his bugs.

Revealing mistakes

When Clark is explaining to Whitney how to find the tree-fort, Clark speeds away while Whitney isn't looking. However, the shadow of someone walking away from the car can be seen when Whitney looks back to where Clark was standing moments before.

Audio/visual unsynchronised

When Greg crashes his Bug into a utility pole, the sound effects are that of a radiator hissing and the engine stalling. The engine to a VW bug is located in the back of the car, the front is merely a trunk of sorts.

Character error

Greg, who has spent his life studying bugs, tells Lana that the average butterfly only lives about 8 hours. While lifespan depends on species, the vast majority of butterflies live between 2 and 4 weeks, with some spanning numerous months. Even the shortest living species (small blues and coppers) have an average life span of a few days.
