A popular attraction in the old traveling carnivals was a dancing bear. Folks paid their money and were thrilled to see a bear moving its feet to the accompaniment of music. No one expected the bear to dance gracefully. It was enough to see it dance at all.
Something of the sort can be said for this film.
Here we see a young Latino man that is outed when his father comes home unexpectedly to find him in bed having sex with another boy. Both father and son react badly, but after some time passes, father and son start to talk again. The audience sees that it's not the end of their relationship.
While this is hardly new ground, and the dialogue is slow and not all that interesting, it's kinda nice to see this kind of film being made by and for the Latino community.
