See it if you can - before it's too late

'Likely Stories, Vol. 2' is unquestionably one of the funniest vignette compilations I've ever had the pleasure of viewing. All the players deliver excellent performances, with DeVito and Perlman in roles they seemed born to play ('The Selling of Vince D'Angelo'). 'School, Girls, and You' features a young Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman) and the ever-dignified Patrick Macnee ('The Avengers') in a 1950s style health education film on co-ed education. Other cast members include Tim Thomerson, John Roarke, Bruce Kimmel, and Gerritt Graham - and they do not disappoint. Opening with a clever parody of 'A Clockwork Orange', 'Likely Stories, Vol. 2' follows through as the Alexesque narrator promises: I was entertained, all right.

10/10 claw scratches – comedy gold!

"The Selling of Vince D'Angelo" and "School, Girls, & You!" are funny enough segments of this, "Likely Stories, Vol. 2"

Just watched both segments that appeared on this HBO series on YouTube. "The Selling of Vince D'Angelo" stars and was directed by Danny DeVito with him playing the title character as a New Jersy politician running for Congress. So we get his first commercial, a new one made by experts, responses from his opponents to his accusations, a spot showcasing his "family", all before the results are revealed. Quite funny with some pertinent satire on the way an attempted assassination could help Vince like it helped Reagan and Pope John Paul II. With Rhea Perlman and Jason Hervey. "School, Girls, & You!" is a black-and-white satire of those '50s instructional films shown at colleges about the right and wrong way to handle the opposite sex. Pre-Pee Wee Herman Paul Reubens plays the wrong way as Wally whose experience with Ginger doesn't go well as opposed to more straight-laced Pete who avoids the danger signals his date Annette posed to him. We also get a color cartoon featuring a penis singing about the dangers of masturbation, something Reubens would know about soon enough... Very hilarious that one was! Like I said, both are on YouTube and are highly recommended. The first one gets a 7 and the second a 10.
