As Burns lies ill in bed towards the end of the film, an exterior shot of the house clearly shows a Scottish Tourist Board sticker in the window and modern commemorative plaques on the wall. Through the open door, a bright red fire alarm can be seen and the building next door has a modern Velux roof window.
