Even B movies shouldn't be this bad
braveheart_highlander16 January 2005
If you have taken "Caught in the Headlights" off your local video store shelves then it can only be for one of two reason: 1. You feel you have to see everything at least once, or 2. You really liked Erika Eleniak in Star Trek and were thrilled when she took off her clothes for Playboy and then in "Under Siege" and were hoping for more of the same.

Whatever the reason, you will be cursing yourself for the choice. Eleniak never gets more scantily clad than a jiggling tank top. Almost anything is better than sitting through the 91 minutes that make up this film. The story could have been written by a fourth grader and the plot twists could be seen by a blind man from a mile away. The acting is universally poor and the stunts are even worse. In one scene a guy who gets shot has to literally jump after the bullet hits him in order to "accidentally fall off a 100 foot tall building.

The dynamics between all the characters are atrocious. The only dialogue worse than between the older married couple who happen to be hit men is the interaction between the two leading ladies. In short there are no redeeming qualities to this move. Please watch something else anything else.

terrible!
FLARTEX10 April 2005
Is terrible to see Erica Eleniak in this movies ! This is an actress very beautiful and with a sufficient quality for working in most important production. Some films are very very b movies. There are other actress most indicated for the roles in this production. Erica Eleniak is a lost talent in this movies. Other actress have the same story: the great Tanya Roberts, very very beautiful and very quality actress. No justice for the cinema. Remember Bill Bixby. A great actor of all time not remembered by specialist and critics of cinema's world. There are many actors very important but not considered. Same name are Roy Thinnes, William Shatner, Alex MacArthur and so on , and some actress as Tanya Roberts, Kim DeLaney, Julie Bowen, Andrea Roth, Stacy Haiduk and many more.

B-Movie? Are you Serious??

Come on Mr. Wilding... Let's face it. Having seen a few of your films and having been increasing disappointed with each one, it should be obvious to you by now (which it is to us), you are not a director. If you want to play the "film maker" game, find a real director. The actor's names alone are not going to make you a Hollywood Special.

Needless to say, you already know how I feel about this experiment gone horribly wrong. Were to start? Sad, very sad creative vision and execution. I suppose Gavin could blame some of that on his DP Mark. Ultimately some of the blame must fall on the shoulders of the producers I suppose. The huge long list of them... which is never a good sign that the film has any merit to being with.

I am sorry however, to all of you who may have watched this disjointed, bubbling, student film quality attempt at a movie. I myself will never get those 30 minutes back. (I had to fast forward through portions in order to make to the end)

Definitely watchable but lacking in thrills

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this movie mainly to see Erika Eleniak. The good news is that she looks more gorgeous than usual in this one. The bad news is that, although she plays a special agent of the Justice Department, she has little in the way of real action apart from running around waving a gun - she doesn't even get to kill one person! The movie is watchable mainly thanks to its cast - in addition to Eleniak, there is a cute and likable Brigitta Dau, Kim Coates as a fairly complex villain (he has no hesitation about killing people but at the same time he honestly loves Eleniak and doesn't want to get her hurt), and Stacy Keach and Erin Gray as an amusingly offbeat married couple of middle-aged assassins. But in the last 30 minutes "Caught in the Headlights" is caught by its low budget, and the action gets limited to watching all those characters endlessly running around in an abandoned mill. This stretched-out climax is definitely the weakest part of the movie. (**)

i didn't mind it(i know, i must have a screw loose somewhere)

I'm pretty sure this is a straight to video movie.maybe i'm coming down with something, but i actually found it entertaining.it's not at all original and you can predict every single plot twist right off the bat.Erica Eleniak(Under Siege)plays Federal agent Kate Parker who is tasked with extraditing a fugitive named Claire Scott(Brigitta Dau,"The Inheritance","When the Cradle falls",both TV movies) wanted in connection with a murder.you already know the rest,or you should, unless this is the first and only movie you've ever watched.just in case, here is the rest of the plot.complications ensue, people get killed, all ends well.like i said,i liked it--well maybe not liked, but it was entertaining, for some strange reason.i mean,it shouldn't be.the acting is okay,i thought.Erica Eleniak, oddly enough has (dare i say it)some screen presence and her character is certainly no bimbo.i actually like the interaction between the middle aged, very much in love, husband and wife assassin team,Mr and Mrs. Jones, played by Stacy Keach and Erin Grey.i though they were quite amusing and i don't mean unintentionally.there is some really cringe worthy dialogue,i admit and you can tell it's B movie, obviously. All in all though,it passed the time and i didn't have to pay for it.based on it's entertainment value,i give "Caught in the Headlights" a solid 6/10
