underground football

when builders play football you better be wearing more than just shin-pads (those steel toecap boots leave a bruise). a funny, dark, and interesting take on our great sport, with a spot on cast (clare grogan, steve sweeney aka plank from lock stock) and developed characters (even builders have depth you know) and the fathers unfaltering belief in protecting his sons fantasy bubble is touching to see, it's usually the refs that are blind, this time round its the 'world class' striker who can hit a spooner like no other, michael owen better watch his england place. i highly recommend this short to be watched, and not just for grogan (note she sings in the ending credits, she still has it!), if you thought Sunday league footy was rough, check out bury it!
