Much like its original version, the remake which is written and directed by Soumitra Ranade of the Jajantaram Mamantaram fame, will explore the theme of personal and societal struggles in today’s times. The '80s film dealt with the common man’s anger in the face of continued political, social and cultural breakdowns. He is angered by the rampant corruption, the ruling political class and the hypocrisy. But most importantly, he is angry at himself for being powerless.

Mumbai, Oct 11: Actor Javed Jaffrey calls his film "War Chhod Na Yaar", which releases Friday, one of the five best films in his career of 28 years.
"I am happy and very excited. In my career of 28 years, this is one of my top 5 films ever. The way this film has been written and presented, it is a beautiful film and I am proud to be a part of it," the 52-year-old said here Thursday at the premiere of the country's first war comedy.
Javed started his career in 1985 with "Meri Jung" and featured in films like "100 Days", "Fire", "Earth", "Jajantaram Mamantaram", "Dhamaal", "Salaam Namaste" and "Singh Is Kinng" among others.
"War Chhod Na Yaar" is India's first war comedy but Javed is confident that the audience will.

Manav Kaul’s Hansa will release in theaters on December 28 under PVR Director’s Rare label. The film won the Audience Choice Award and Fipresci International Critics’ Prize at Osian’s Cinefan film festival 2012.
Hansa revolves around two siblings, Hansa and Cheeku, hailing from the central Himalayas. Both are daunted by fears of their own: Hansa by the local bully and Cheeku by the lecherous landlord. In his directorial debut, Kaul focuses on land use, urban migration, resilience and the magic of childhood.
A noted theatre person, Kaul has also acted in films like Daayen Ya Baayen, I Am, 1971 and Jajantaram Mamantaram.
