Extreme Duudsonit is the best show on TV. Series does go further than Jackass in terms of stunts, but that is not all. The characters in it are a lot more personable. Duudsonit are best friends and you can see the friendship between them.

Some of the stunts these guys pull are absolutely insane, you think to yourself, why someone would even come up with this idea and why would someone want to do it. Duudsonit are so stupid, they could get killed. I was like watching this series and all I was thinking was if they were ever going to get seriously injured or killed in one of there dangerous stunts. The stunts are also very original.

If you're looking for a laugh, this is a great show to watch.

Duudsonit are brilliant!

Extreme Duudsonit are often described as the "Finnish Jackass". This is pretty accurate, but they are not just copycats. The show started in January 2001 and most of it was already shot in the summer of 2000, several months before Jackass aired on MTV for the first time.

There have been three seasons so far in Jackass-style, but the 4th and latest season is a bit different. It's more like a combination of Jackass, Dirty Sanchez and Viva La Bam, with a lot of everyday "reality" stuff along with all the stunts. But it's just as good as the earlier seasons, and shows that they guys are able to re-invent themselves without losing the touch that made them popular in the first place (They are big celebrities here in Finland).

I've been a big fan since the beginning. Despite the fact that these guys are Finnish, they are not in any way worse than their American counterparts. Stunts are big and sometimes very dangerous, and they are not just copying others: Many of the stunts I've seen on "Extreme Duudsonit" are unlike anything else I've seen on TV or in different extreme DVDs. So I gotta give them big props for originality.

I also appreciate the fact that they are doing everything by themselves. This is not a "product", but something that started out as a hobby and then turned into a profession for the guys. It's cool that they are running their own TV company and are successful at it.

The guys are childhood friends and come off as really likable. Especially Jarppi, who is a fat, but very funny guy with endless one-liners. There is a good friendship going on between the guys, and the chit-chat is often really funny.

I also dig the fact that they are shooting mostly on the Finnish countryside. So there are a lot of forests, fields and lakes on the background. Many extreme videos look dark and depressing, but Duudsonit comes off as bright and colorful, with a good emphasis on Finnish nature.

If you're into extreme stunts, I highly recommend the Duudsonit TV shows and DVDs. Unfortunately I don't know if their DVDs are available outside Finland, and there is a language barrier anyway: They speak Finnish in their TV shows.

Dude is an animal

The Extreme Duudsonit is what you get when you combine Bruce Lee with David Hasselhoff (as Knight Rider) and Finnish ski jumper Matti Nykänen. Four Finnish guys that are usually compared to Jackass and Dirty Sanchez are however a separate phenomenon, although every program claim to have its origins in skateboarding or snowboarding sub-cultures. Duudsonit themselves explain that they are just traditionally mad Finns – they speak broadly their own dialect and are very proud of their home district and they don't hide their sentimentalism. They have even designed their own shirts in accordance with local traditions!

The Extreme Duudsonit are also very popular performers on Finnish television and hosts in various events. It could even be said that they are respected, even though they have a fame of complete idiots. They claim that 'stupidity has no limits' and 'dude is an animal'. Their basic stunt is usually a downhill skiing from various places with any equipment you can think about. A car is often used as an engine to drag down a road various types of carriages, always someone of them as an outside-passenger. It should be emphasized that it is not only their stunts, but also their pre-stunt speeches that add to the entertainment value, like "now we gonna see who's the boss in here".

It is also fun to see how seriously they review their stunts, like: "How is it possible that a house may burn?" and "Beware David Hasselhoff, here comes the new Knight Rider!" These are just bad translations from their original speeches, for none of their four DVD's have any subtitles. About the language problems the boys have commented that "The others will learn Finnish in one week." The boys are very skillful but injuries are also frequent. When somebody gets hurt, the camera goes into the hospital and shows how bad the injuries really are. This is also where duudsonit differ from the Jackass: viewers also see their misfortunes and tears, which makes them very human. And, of course, because they are the Extreme Duudsonit, hospital is never the end of story.

Duudsonit, a Finnish jackass but better
jukka-hilden9 January 2005
Extreme Duudsonit is great! If you want a good laugh, check out Extreme Duudsonit. Crazy, funny stunt show with great personalities. 4 guys from Finland doing just absolutely hilarious hardcore stunts.

What amazes me in Extreme Duudsonit, is the fine quality of editing and filming the show. It's 10 times better than you're used to in this genre! I wish that they would do something in English, so that the people of the world would have an opportunity to laugh their asses off to this show.

People always compare this kind of shows to jackass and so will I. I like the personalities in Extreme Duudsonit more. They seem to be true to themselves and you can see real friendship between the guys. Also Extreme Duudsons has high quality in production when jackass was more home video like. It's like watching good music videos with dangerous stunts in them. The stunts in the Duudsons work really well. They have huge stunts like bone breaking motorcycle-jumps, but also smaller funny stunts like walking on thin ice.

In overall I like Extreme Duudsonit more than jackass because of their personalities, high quality in the TV show and the mixture of different stunts. They make me laugh a lot.
