Ghost Rider fans were skeptical when it was announced that the the Spirit of Vengeance was going to be adapted for the small screen and make his debut on the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but as the series continues, Robbie Reyes and his fiery passenger are definitely emerging as major highlights in most viewer’s eyes. So much so that a lot of fans are now clamoring for the character to be given his own spinoff.
Up until now we haven’t had any indication that something like that might be on the cards, but during an interview with ComicBook.com, actor Gabriel Luna confirmed that the idea has been kicked around at Marvel:
“It’s been talked about, there’s definitely deals in place for that potential. But I just take it one day at a time. I have so much fun now I just want to...

The Alchemyst, based on Michael Scott's popular fantasy novel, is set to be filmed in Australia and New Zealand in early-2013.
Adelaide-based Ampco Films has acquired the rights to the book, which was originally published in 2007 and is the first in The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel six-part series. The film was previously set up with New Line before it was absorbed by Warner Bros, prompting the rights to revert back to Scott. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura then picked up the rights in 2009 before the latest deal.
The Alchemyst centers on the legendary 14th-century French alchemist, Nicholas Flamel, who is said to have discovered the secret of eternal life and is still alive today. Don't read this unless you've seen the March 30 season finale of Starz's "Spartacus: Vengeance."
I propose a name change for "Spartacus: Vengeance." It's clunkier, but maybe it should be called "We Just Killed Your Favorite Character."
As we all know by now, "Spartacus" creator Steven DeKnight does not mind killing characters off, and you may even wonder if he revels in the bloodshed that occurs near the end of every season of the show. But "revels" isn't the right word: Having interviewed him several times, it's clear to me that DeKnight loves the show's characters as much as fans do, and yet, when it's time for them to go, he's willing to off them, usually in spectacular fashion.
Welcome to the afterlife, Ashur, Lucretia, Oenemaus, Ilythia, Glaber and Mira. We'll miss you.
As much as I regret having to say goodbye these characters, as I said in my review of "Wrath of the Gods,...

Warning: If you have yet to watch the Spartacus: Vengeance finale tonight, run don’t walk to the nearest exit. We’re serious, folks. The following Q&A with executive producer Steven S. DeKnight contains massive spoilers. Trust us on this one. Everyone else, you may proceed…
Oh my Gods.
Spartacus: Vengeance wrapped its 10-episode season Friday with a breathtakingly action-packed and staggeringly lethal episode. When the sand dust settled, at least six major characters — including Lucy Lawless’ Lucretia! — were left for dead. Even in this day and age, where casualty-prone shows like The Walking Dead, True Blood and Game of Thrones are de rigueur,...

Holy shit, right?
A few days ago on Twitter, after I said that fans would be yelling "Holy shit" after the "Spartacus: Vengeance" season finale, a fan responded to me with a question: Could anything in the season's final episode top the moment in which Ilythia killed Seppia and then had sex with Glaber?
I'm going to say the answer is yes.
Let's review, shall we? "Spartacus" killed off Oenomaus (No!); "Spartacus" killed off Glaber by shoving a sword down his throat (okay, so he had it coming, but damn, I loved that character this season); "Spartacus" killed off Ashur (Ok, so I saw that one coming -- nobody who predicts a golden future for themselves ever lives long on this show, but damn! Ashur!); "Spartacus" killed off Lucretia (Noooooo!); and not only that, the show killed off a newborn baby,...

Chicago – “Let us split darkness with the cries of Romans.” Boobs, blood, and betrayal — “Spartacus” must be back. Following up on the action of the beloved “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” and coming on the heels of the most critical acclaim in the history of the network (“Boss”), Starz hopes to keep momentum going with the well-made if ridiculous “Spartacus: Vengeance.” The long-awaited season premiere, airing tonight, January 27th, 2012, works as it should, not changing the formula too drastically from season one and delivering “300”-esque thrills on Friday nights.
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
What most fans of “Spartacus” will want to know is simple — How does Liam McIntyre fill the big sandals of the tragically-departed Andy Whitfield (who passed away from cancer last September)? The good news is that the new Spartacus is cut from the same mold. McIntyre is a square-jawed alpha male, the kind of guy that one can easily believe...

Lucy Lawless
If the Emmy Awards didn’t have such a glaring blind spot when it comes to recognizing great genre programming, New Zealand actress Lucy Lawless would have a slew of acting nominations and at least one Emmy statuette somewhere in her house. Unfortunately, Hollywood does look down its collective nose at shows like Xena: Warrior Princess, Battlestar Galactica, and most recently the hit Starz show Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Perhaps not coincidentally, Lawless has starred on all three of those shows, none of which has ever received the Emmy love which they deserve.
While fans of those shows might take offense at the oversight, Lawless herself is much more sanguine about the fact. Instead, she simply focuses on the work and enjoying the people around her. In anticipation of the third series of Spartacus, subtitled Vengeance, airing on January 27th on Starz, AfterElton.com scored time at last...

From Mother Nature Network's Gerri Miller:
With its addictive combination of nudity, sex, action and plots even thicker than the blood spurting in its gladiatorial battles, "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" was a big hit for Starz when it premiered in 2010. But when Andy Whitfield, who played the title role, was stricken with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, the prequel miniseries "Gods of the Arena" was made in the interim in the hope that he'd recover. Tragically, Whitfield succumbed to the disease last September, and the role was recast with Liam McIntyre. "Spartacus Vengeance" premieres Jan. 27, with Spartacus spearheading a slave rebellion -- and Roman troops under Gaius Claudius Glaber the man responsible for Spartacus' wife's death -- on a mission to crush it.
"It's not an easy journey, both interacting with the other members of the group and for him personally, a man that never really wanted this mantle," said creator/writer Steven S. DeKnight...

Viva Bianca's "Spartacus: Vengeance" character Ilithyia has certainly changed since we first met her. She has grown from a mischievous schemer into an upper-class married woman, with a trail of devastation lying in her wake. We last saw Ilithyia two years ago in "Spartacus: Blood and Sand" as she sealed the doors, closing the pesky Lucretia (Lucy Lawless) behind them.
Well, it seems that Ilithyia's best-laid plans didn't turn out quite as she wanted them to, and Lucretia is back on the scene -- more or less. The Huffington Post sat down to talk to Bianca about all aspects of "Spartacus: Vengeance," from the constant nudity, to Ilithyia's transformation, to working with Lawless.
First off, we here at HuffPost TV want to tell you your name is awesome.
I get that a lot, actually! [Laughs] When I was a little girl at school I really wanted to be Katie or Sarah or Sophie.

The countdown to Vengeance continues on BuzzFocus with another bonus clip from the upcoming Spartacus: Gods of the Arena Blu-ray/DVD release. This clip features Lucy Lawless hanging out in her trailer while on set. Even without her full makeup on she still has the regal look of Lucretia. Or, does she? In this clip, you’ll see a very unpredictable Lawless tormenting an unsuspecting crew member. After you check out the trailer, let us know what you think of Lucy’s antics in the comments section below. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed (or at least I’m sure you’ll be surprised and a little freaked out). Gods of the Arena hits Blu-ray and DVD on September 13, 2011. The series features John Hannah as Batiatus, Peter Mensah as Oenomaus, Lucy Lawless as Lucretia, Dustin Clare as Gannicus, Jaime Murray as Gaia and Marisa Ramirez as Melitta. Spartacus: Vengeance...

During Comic-Con, Lucy Lawless spoke with reporters regarding her disheveled appearance in Spartacus: Vengeance and getting her “groove” back.
There are a lot of questions surrounding Lucretia’s (Lawless) return. At the end of Season 1, she was seemingly left for dead, along with her husband Batiatus, by Spartacus and the gladiators. But there’s no doubt she is alive. “[Lucretia's] somewhat worse for wear,” Lawless said of her character’s reappearance. “She’s lost her beloved husband. She’s lost her child. She’s lost all the promise of the nuclear family. That’s why the show’s called ‘Vengeance.’
This won’t be the same woman that appeared in Blood and Sand. “She’s lost a great deal of status, as you can imagine. It’s a moment-to-moment struggle for survival for the rest of the season. But she’s got a master plan.” That plan involves getting revenge on Crixus,...

Starz new "Spartacus: Vengeance" promises to be an off the hook throw down between Viva Bianca's Ilithyia and Lucy Lawless' Lucretia. Not to mention all the gladiator blood lust and action. Monsters and Critics broke that ice and asked the first question at the recent Television Critics' Association panel day for Starz. I asked Lucy how many great scenes she gets with Viva Bianca. Lawless said, "Many. If you remember, when Ilithyia left us at the end, she barricaded the door and effectively enabled the massacre to happen against her own people. So the series is called 'Vengeance,' and my relationship with Ilithyia will certainly be a testimony to an act of vengeance. You know what I.m...

The Spartacus panel held on Friday at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour may have included six people, but the woman in the slender white dress was the one that drew the majority of the attention from everyone in the room. That woman, of course, was Lucy Lawless, who has played the compelling, shocking and sexy Lucretia in both Blood and Sand and last year’s prequel Gods of the Arena, and was there to talk about the new season of the Starz series, Spartacus: Vengeance that will launch on the pay channel in January 2012.
But, wait a minute — didn’t we all assume Lucretia bled to death at the end of Blood and Sand? Lawless laughed to the crowd of journalists and explained, “She just scabs over.”
And while Lawless was mum about giving away too much — her boss, Executive Producer Steven DeKnight, was only a few seats...

Some pictures and a promo video to "Spartacus: Vengeance" were unleashed earlier this month, but actual footage from the second season has just made its way out at Comic Con panel on Friday, July 22. Holding his sword to face off Roman armies on horses, Liam McIntyre's Spartacus leads a movement to freedom. He is clearly seen still angry about what happened to his wife.
As the new Spartacus depicter, McIntyre was greeted with huge cheer when coming out on the stage with co-star Lucy Lawless. Asked about how he feels taking over the role from Andy Whitfield, McIntyre humbly said, "It's a great privily, a great honor, it's a great responsibility... Everyone can agree Andy was amazing. The best thing I can do is bust my ass and honor that legacy trying to make season 2 as amazingly as exciting as season 1."

Gratitude for choosing this blog post to find out about the Spartacus panel at Comic-Con, moderated by EW’s Adam B. Vary. We heard from the show’s cast, producers and even got to see a trailer (below).

If you go out and pick up a copy of Entertainment Weekly, you’ll find the first look at Lucy Lawless in the upcoming season of Spartacus: Vengeance. If I’m being completely and utterly honest, she looks terrible, but in a character appropriate way. Her hair is disheveled and she’s covered in dirt. This most likely has to do with having been “killed” at the end of Spartacus: Blood and Sand. It wasn’t a pretty sight let’s just say. So what is she doing back? Well did you notice the quotations I put around the word “killed”? Executive producer Steven S. DeKnight tells us we should have known that Lawless’ Lucretia is still alive. ‘The astutue observer will notice that at the end of the first season, she is still twitching. She won’t just magically reappear. It will be a few episodes before you know exactly what happened.
