Carrying on the theme of puppet comperes from earlier outings like 'Five O'Clock Club'; we have 'The Basil Brush Show'.
Foxy Basil was a much more outspoken and entertaining individual with a nice line in gentle mockery. He was very much centre-stage. He had a particular gift for telling corny jokes, which he would round-off with a 'boom, boom' in emphasis of their corny nature. It quickly became a national catch-phrase. For an interim Basil and his show became the most popular TV show for both kids and adults who enjoyed his harmless anarchy alike.
Now, like Ollie and Fred, he's faded into oblivion.
Sadly missed.
