The final episode of "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour", in which Lucy meets Ernie Kovacs, marked the final go-around for the Ricardos and the Mertzes. By this point, these shows were not filmed before live audiences. The crew had abandoned live audiences long before the final installment.
A placard featuring the famous "I Love Lucy" heart logo against a satin backdrop is visible in a scene set in around 1951; in reality, that logo was not used until show was released for syndication years later, and until then opening featured animated Lucy/Desi cartoon characters plugging various sponsors.
In the final episode of "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour", they show Ed Sedgwick and Red Skelton in the audience but without Buster Keaton as he sat with them during the first episode filming. They seem to imply that Buster Keaton is dead, but Ed Sedgwick died in 1953 and the final episode was taped in 1957. Buster Keaton died in 1966 and was younger than Ed Sedgwick, but Ed is portrayed as being younger than Buster Keaton.
The Garden Of Allah, where Lucy first meets Carole Lombard, was not a swanky nightclub but rather a famous Sunset Strip apartment complex.
Vivian Vance twice refers to her husband "Paul"; during the "I Love Lucy" run, Vance was actually married to actor Phil Ober.
The limousines Lucy, her mother, and others were riding in were 1964 Cadillacs, while the scenes were from the 1950s. It appears the producers went to great lengths not to show the tail lights of the vehicles, but on two occasions they were visible.
Early in the movie, during the flashback about Lucy's life before Desi, in stock footage (probably colorized to match the film) of Manhattan traffic, the title on the screen says "New York City 1931" but the taxicabs and other vehicles shown have full steel hardtops and are from later in the decade.
The simulated black-and-white scenes of the show are shown in an aspect ratio more similar to the 16:9 ratio of modern digital video rather than the 4:3 ratio of analog video.
Desi sings the wrong lyrics for "Rock-a-bye Baby": "When the wind blows / The cradle will fall" instead of "the cradle will rock." Desi Arnaz actually sang it this way in the real episode, so caught up in the moment. They thought about doing another take, but Desi and Lucy decided it was perfect as it was.
