A unique episode of this well-worn series
rwvenice17 February 2006
This was probably the best biography I worked on. It's not at all sensational or tacky. Producer John Griffin got some amazing early audio interviews with River that fans won't hear anywhere else. The show was able to take the time to not only detail his childhood and (of course) career, but also deal with the issues close to River, such as animal kindness and equality, and protecting the environment. The show also addresses River's unfair legacy as just another Hollywood causality. The show boldly addresses that many of River's friends and family in Hollywood would not participate in a show about River's life - ironically adding to an overpowering aura surrounding his death. This is the only A&E Biography episode to have a reverse title where the subjects name did not come before subtitle.

I really really wanna know where can i find music that plays in this documentary. if anyone is able to help, i would be very grateful. Very well done documentary. he is a one in a million. people like him cross the earth once in a while and we should catch them and enjoy their company before they fade away again. River often comes in my mind when i listen robert plant - Blue Train. I think this song perfectly suits him.
