mmmmmm pie.
Torgo_Approves2 July 2007
Has watching the meaningless lives of what appears to be eggs with severe speech impediments, a near-fetishistic fascination for pie, and the vocabulary of the average MSN user, ever been more fun? This is a show so unique, so wonderfully out there, that it's hard to forget. With its extremely crude animation style, pink/white colour scheme and abstract, to say the least, plot lines, this series of short films succeeds because it's so hilarious - in its own very silly and mind-numbing way - that you'll have trouble breathing at times. Weebl and bob are a comedy troupe to remember, the animated Marx brothers of our time, only with pie. For anyone with a taste for stuff so pointless and time-wasting that only the internet could have possibly spawned it, Weebl and Bob is flash animation Nirvana. It's a real shame that this show was pulled off the air, but it's well worth seeking out on the web. Together these two animated slackers redefine surreal comedy with a unique heart and wit. And pie.

Shiver me shirkins!

Simple and enjoyable animations done using Flash. Our two protagonists are both eggs: Weeble and his little egg friend Bob. Among their friends are a mushroom pirate, a hobbyhorse donkey and some rebellious jams. The stories are many of them absurd and surreal, Weeble and Bob roll around and do things that would be offensive if done by humans (and may still be to some). The animations are very short, most of them a minute in length or less and their quality varies greatly. As they are available online you should make the effort of seeing them, furthermore 1h of them has been published on a DVD called wobbl and bob, only available from the website. It's worth noting that some episodes have been reedited with different music for the DVD release.

Minimalistic internet comedy

This series was definitely a product of the early and mid 2000s. It has a minimalistic style common to Flash animations, with very simple characters. The humour is bizarre and quirky in a way that I loved.

Warning: Spoilers
Where to start??? My brother found the first episode three years ago when searching for queer duck. We got into it, and enjoyed everything. Episodes of the simple comedy are rare in that they are never awful, but some have a dumb punchline. Why does a show where the two main characters are eggs, one of which doesn't move, that don't speak regularly, a monkey, a ninja pirate, a bunch of rebellious jams, a bull so called to be a evil mastermind who is Weeble's father, and sometimes an angry human who explodes, make us laugh? Look at the list. Episodes can range from being superheroes to getting high while being a detective and from being a public service announcement to the duo just trying to get pie. Fantastic!!!

Awesome

This show proves once again that how easier, how crappier animation is, how funnier it becomes (just like South Park). Weebl and Bob are just two kinda-eggs with eyes who are talking to each other about the most absurd things. Just because of this crappy animation the show is so funny. And also because they are mumbling; you cannot understand at all what they are saying if it didn't appear on the screen. We should have more of these little, very-easy-made animation, to make you laugh again after a hard day working!
