Watch it for the touching performances of Rekha and children......
SumanShakya9 June 2016
"Jhutha Sach" means a fake truth; and the film depicts one such personality, a temporary look alike of a deceased father, a step-mom hires for her children to hide the truth of their father's death in an accident. The film offers a lot of sweetness through the innocent performances of the children. The innocent questions the two kids put to their father forms the best part of the film. Rekha also portrays a nice motherhood of a stepmom that's also pretty touching. Dharmendra in the role of a widowed father is impressive.

Despite the goodness in the story, the film hasn't been able to free itself from the formulaic movies of '80s. The criminal role of Dharmendra as a look alike father and unnecessary cabaret and fights highly takes the leverage from the film and keeps it an ordinary affair. Had the film been just family oriented and devoid of regular bad guys like Amrish Puri, the film could have been lot better. Still I liked the film for the childhood innocence and the motherhood it depicts.

Disguises, Deceptions, and Dawn of the Damned.

Warning: Spoilers
Dharmendra and Rekha, both of them hot and sexy in their own right, have given some light movies as a pair. That song, when they sing a duet on a dwindling crane, Rekha saying intermittently, Maine aisa to nahi kahan tha.. was a hit.

But in this movie, both have been cast in different roles altogether; Though Rekha is known for her histrionics, Dharmendra drifted after some good movies like Anupama, as a sensitive, soft-spoken hero, to characters which were more tilted towards comedy , in addition to his action films. In Jhootha Sach, he has to act rude and blunt , as well as underplay emotions; i feel he could have done even better ,if he would have taken his role a little more seriously. He looks confused on may occasions, and i would blame the director, for not orienting him, what is wanted from him. Overall, though the movie has the stereotypes of a typical villain ,played by Puri, and the seductive vamp by Irani, some effort has been made to show the dynamics between the impersonating dad, and the two kids. i liked the song, Chor Pakda Gaya.. which is quite touching, and has some appeal. Inspite of an illogical plot line, and mostly clichéd situations, Rekha gives a sensitive performance, and Dharmendra does his best, could have done better. i would rate this movie as at least worth-watching once, to see how even in a Hindi movie, the director has tried to show us ,some natural reactions of young children, longing for father's love, and the plight of a mother, who has to think of so many gimmicks to achieve what she wants desperately, the happiness of her children.

Lies and truth

Jhutha Sach was a pretty ordinary family comedy movie. It was quite watchable and nice but at the end of it there was a feeling it could have been given a skip. I watched it mainly to see Rekha and to an extent Dharmendra. Dharmendra plays a dual role in this film, one of a married man and the other of a selfish and greedy criminal. When Rekha's husband passes away, she hires his lookalike for a certain period of time until she will be able to tell her children the truth. Well, the story is quite inconsequential and not very interesting. The film was well done though - it was light and simple, not overly melodramatic but it still lacked charm and the execution felt weak. Rekha does a good job in a restrained act of a young widow and Dharmendra plays his two roles without being very impressive. You can watch Jhutha Sach if you have nothing better to do. You may even find it fairly entertaining, but do not expect anything more than just that.

A good entertaining movie with melodious songs, superb acting and actions

I liked the movie. After watching Agreement and Aanchal both directed by Anil Ganguly, Jhutha Saach has all the ingredients of a very entertaining movie. Dharmendra is in a dual role but in the role of the criminal he excelled. While the plot may sound a bit out of the world where a newly wed wife goes out to hire a temporary look alike of her dead husband to make her children not miss their dad, Ganguly maintained the theme pretty consistent and gave the two kids the enough screen time to keep their story the focus of the movie. Rekha as usual gave a commendable performance so as Amrsh Puri, Lalita Power, Irani and Asrani. The movie moved fast and the cinematography was of a very high standard. The songs were melodious and Rekha provided some extraordinary dance sequences to match the tunes. I gave it a nine out of ten.
