Gentle, subtle, elegant. And deep. You might need more than a couple of viewings to appreciate the multiple layers in this simple story of a boy trying to prove himself. Watch it. See yourself. We are one.
The movie is not about bugs though there are termites in it. It is not about Africa, though it is set in Africa. But it is about family and it is about brotherhood and it is about manhood. In this tale of a young boy who sets out to prove himself, we learn that we are who we are and if we are determined we can succeed at what we set our minds to do. We can be great at something even if it is not the norm. We also learn that sometimes success isn't everything and this is one lesson which is so well executed, and subtly examined that you might not get with one viewing.
