A time when thrash metal was king.
johncitizenusa2 March 2003
It is a wounderful film that captures the authenticity of the 80's metal scene. With lots of interviews with some of the biggest bands from that very special era. Thrash exploded in the Bay Area and onto the music scene, in a time were a lot of the metal bands were just starting out and getting their wings. They'd go from bar to bar selling out shows and begining to develope a real fan base. Out of it came some really successfull bands that changed the music industry almost over night. Bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Overkill and Testament all played a part in what I think is the best era in metal and in music for that mater. The only flaw for me is not fully exploring the metal scene from the fans point of view. I would of loved to see them delve into the life style of these faithful metal followers. With that being said it's fun to go back in time and reminise when metal was king and thrash was in.
