- [first lines]
- Max Lucado: The Garden. This is a vision of paradise, everything that is perfect and wholesome. Why, just the way God intended.
- Hermie: Psst, Down Here. Who are you?
- Max Lucado: I'm Max, Max Lucado
- Hermie: Oh, I'm Hermie. Say, can you spin a web?
- Max Lucado: No.
- Hermie: Can you float like a butterfly?
- Max Lucado: No.
- Hermie: Do you sting like a bee?
- Max Lucado: No.
- Hermie: Hmm. Neither can I. You must not be very special either.
- Max Lucado: Well sure I am. And your special too!
- Hermie: Sure, Can't spin, can't float, can't sting, just crawl. Look at me crawl. Get out of my way, I'm crawling! Isn't that exciting.
- Max Lucado: You know if you don't do anything special, you start to wonder if you are special. But as Hermie finds out, he's far from a common caterpillar!
- Hermie: Hey, do you eat fly eggs? Neither do I.
- Hermie: Why did you make so many wonderful creatures? Other caterpillars have stripes, some have spots, you know I even saw one with stripes and spots, but I.. I don't have anything. I'm just Hermie.
- God: Oh.
- Wormie: And I'm just Wormie.
- Hermie: Whoa, you scared me.
- Wormie: Who you talking to, Hermie?
- Hermie: Oh, I'm just talking to God, Do you ever you know, talk to God?
- Wormie: Sure, all the time.
- Hermie: Really, well I never knew that.
- Wormie: You never asked.
