Another social criticism that provides no solution
or more precisely, dared not to point out the solution.
The literal translation of the title of this movie is: the dangerous trade.
This movie made one year after the June 4th incident in 1989 took a very cautious approaching in criticizing the rampant corruption in China, as well as other crimes that associated and rooted from the corruption. Compared to other social critic crime movies made in China in the later years, as well as those made earlier, this one is much more mild. However, the movie still deserves a salute for being one of the very first after the incident to reopen the topic of corruption and this first would be more than enough to make up its inadequacy such as only pointing out the problems but without providing any solutions.
