- Lloyd, manager of a lunch wagon at the beach, must contend with his morning commute, difficult customers, and other problems on a day when absolutely everything goes wrong.
- Lloyd is a lunch-room proprietor and his adventures on the way to and at work find him in escapades involving a roller coaster, a street car and out-to-sea on a submarine. Things aren't going all that well in the hot-dog business, either.—Les Adams <longhorn1939@suddenlink.net>
- Our hero is a business man and must be fittingly attired. His wardrobe consists of five suits-the home of five thousand moths. Suit after suit falls to pieces on his back but he finally gets one that will hold together and starts for his place of business. The street cars are as crowded as a number ten foot in a number five shoe but our hero manages to get in only to be pushed out But he persists and finally gets a place in the car. His troubles are not over yet, for a baby smears his face with sticky candy and almost chokes him to death. Lloyd gets into more arguments than a peace conference delegate. At last the end of the line is reached and Lloyd goes to his place of business - hot-dog wagon at the beach. Customers pour in and among them is an inebriated gentleman with a bottle generously filled. While trying to treat the customers, he spies a policeman and drops the bottle into the coffee urn. Soon coffee is in much demand. Customers drink five and six cups and before they know it they are in "For he's a Jolly good fellow" and "Sweet Adeline." A windstorm comes up which blows the hot dog wagon along the street with its singing proprietor and customers. It lands on a roller-coaster and takes the dip while the singers continue singing. As the wagon goes around a turn it leaves the track and falls into the ocean--only to reappear again on the back of a submarine just emerging. The crew rush the stand, buy out the stock and leave our hero with a wad of bills. But his joy is short, for the undersea boat starts to submerge, leaving our hero climbing the periscope tube with all possible speed.
