Several children are rowed past a wharf and back again. They dance on the beach holding hands; if they were English they might be singing "Ring Around the Rosie."

The people at Biograph were very aggressive at getting local production set up throughout Europe. After the American branch was set up, William Dickson traveled around the continent in the 1890s, shooting many short subjects with his bulky contraption. Usually, they were simple subjects done in one continuous take. The Dutch branch of the firm, however, went a little further earlier than most people. I've seen films from this era with one obvious cut. This one uses three.
