A poetical tale about hope amidst the draught
Rodrigo_Amaro30 March 2024
The sadness and misery faced by a lonely man (Aristides Ribeiro) living in a poor area where drought left nothing but calamity becomes a poetic little tale in the hands of Telmo Carvalho. With a mix of animation, film and other special techniques, he presents the story of a hopeful man who begs and prays for rain, hoping that life gets restaured in that place, in order to get a living there.

Main appeal of this short comes from all the techniques used, which turns the film into an interesting and artistic collage where it's hard to find a difference between the real action and the animation. It's all very creative, unique and poetical as we don't need words, everything is told through its images, showing beauty and despair. 8/10.
