Mock-Documentary of one L.T.R. (Long Term Relationship)
Havan_IronOak18 April 2003
This film documents the relationship between Michael and Riley from the first blissful moments when they proclaim that they are soul mates and can finish each other's sentences to those moments when the inevitable differences begin to crop up. Also, the presence of a filmmaker complicates the relationship in ways that they could not have expected.

While this film is a `mockumentary' and billed as a comedy, I was struck by the differences between this film and Hell House, which I had seen earlier the same night. Hell House uses a `cold camera' technique allowing those interviewed to say what they will and portraying them with as little bias as possible. In L.T.R. the documentarian becomes much more involved.

It's OK but nothing special

Short about two young gay guys (Michael and Riley) who are committed to each other in a ltr (long-term relationship)...after being together one full week. The short is fashioned with a guy following them around with a camera and documenting their relationship. Naturally by week 4 they're at each others throats.

Well-done and funny mocumentary. The acting was good, the insights to gay love, life and relationships were dead on target. But, as a gay man, I wasn't too impressed. I've seen real life experiences like this so nothing here was surprising or hysterically funny. Still it's not a bomb and I'm sure gay or str8 audiences will like it. A slight recommendation.

Da bomb
TheMikeJustice23 August 2004
This movie is da bomb, yo. I got the Boys Life 4 compilation for my birthday and this was, by far, the best short on the DVD. Even if the other three hadn't sucked major ass, L.T.R. would have still impressed me with its above-average acting, writing, editing, and direction. Unlike most other low-budget, gay-themed shorts, L.T.R. actually has a theme, plot, and subtext. A lovely film, really. A gem. A diamond in the rough. Required viewing for anyone wishing to see gay cinema that doesn't patronize or underestimate its audience by using shirtless boys to cover up a lack of conviction.

I saw this at OUTFEST 2002 and it had the best crowd reaction, we all laughed the whole way through, but of course everyone would shut up to hear the next line, it was beautifully writen , and the acting is so great that i actually thought it was a documentary at first. And Weston Mueller who plays the lead is so cute! Hope you all get a chance to see it! lata
