Granada's loss became Centrals's gain
Chip_douglas31 December 2005
"TX", a TV abbreviation for 'transmission', was an extremely short running Saturday morning replacement show broadcast between September and December of 1985. Needing something to fill in between the summer show "Get Fresh" and the January series of "No 73" (the best Saturday morning show ever made), Granada Television quickly cobbled together this show featuring pop news, cartoons, competitions and music videos. Central Television supplied a general knowledge quiz called "Knock Your Block Off" (KYBO for short) hosted by Steve Blacknell, that turned out to be the most memorable and popular part of the show.

Resident CITV personality Sue Robbie was the first presenter on board, adding yet another show to her impressive resume (allready including "First Post" and "Hold Tight"). Tony Slattery, still on the verge of being a break out star, did TX between "Behind the Bike Sheds" and the stage production of "Me and my girl". Rounding out the presenters roster was radio and television Soapie Alison Dowling. In the final episode, broadcast on December 21, the three of them appeared in pantomime and looked back on "Highlights of ITV '85". Sadly, TX was not amongst them. However KYBO did return as a series as well as a board game.
