A cute little girl is about to be raped when a big strong man pulling a heavy cart comes to her rescue. She follows him to the inn. As she snoops through his stuff he tells her only his student is allowed to look at that.
There is an abrupt cut to some big shots having dinner outdoors. They discuss who will take over. Whang In-Shik issues a challenge to fight. He defeats the guy and no one is killed. Back to uncle and little sweetie, they are at another inn and he rescues another girl from abduction. The bad guys now know who he is and they send Whang In- Shik after him. Flashback reveals our hero had his infant child abducted. The twist is - that would be a spoiler so let me stop there. So now we have a story and a plot.
It is undeniable that Whang In-Shik can fight and perform but the rest of the cast can hardly move. Some fight sequences are downright pathetic. Overall I rate it below average for the year and genre. This movie would only interest a hard core fan of martial arts movies of the golden age from 1967 – 1984. Even then, the movie would be for curiosity rather than entertainment. This is one of the few surviving martial arts movies made in South Korea in the 1970s that exists in wide screen format with good quality resolution and dubbed in English. I wish all of Hwang Jang Lee's movies still existed in this condition.
